Instructions
Preparation
Wash the potato thoroughly under running water to remove dirt and contaminants.
Peel the potato and cut it into small cubes to ensure even cooking.
Cooking Steps
Place the diced potato in a saucepan. Add enough water to cover the pieces and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce the heat to low and let the potato simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until it is fork-tender.
Drain the cooking water and let the potato cool to a lukewarm temperature.
Using a fork or potato masher, mash the potato coarsely, leaving small lumps for texture. If needed, add a small amount of water to adjust consistency.
Serve fresh and warm as a standalone dish.
