Cooking Steps
Step 1: To begin making the Aloo Dal Pakoras recipe, we will first prepare the stuffing
Step 2: To prepare the potato stuffing, in a mixing bowl, combine potatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, lemon juice, coriander leaves, hing, salt
Step 3: Mix well
Step 4: Pinch small portions of the potato mixture , shape them into equal size balls and set them aside
Step 5: To prepare the batter, drain the excess water from the moong dal and transfer it to the jar of a mixer
Step 6: Add green chillies, ginger, salt and grind it to a smooth batter using very little water
Step 7: Transfer the ground batter into a wide bowl
Step 8: Heat oil in a kadai/wok
Step 9: When the oil is hot, dip each potato ball in the dal batter and slowly drop them into the oil
Step 10: Fry the pakoras over medium flame till they are light golden on both sides
Step 11: Drain them on an absorbent paper towel
Step 12: Repeat the same process for the rest of the batch
Step 13: Delicious Aloo dal pakoras are ready to be served hot
Step 14: Serve Aloo Dal Pakoras along with Dhaniya Pudina Chutney and Date Tamarind Chutney as a tea time snack
