-Wash and soak urad da overnight.
Cooking Steps
Drain the soaked urad dal and grind it to a smooth batter in a mixer-grinder, adding water as required.
Transfer the batter to a bowl and add chopped onions, green chili, grated ginger, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.
Heat an appe maker over medium heat. Place a few drops of oil in each of the appe molds.
Spoon the batter into the molds, filling them 3/4th full.
Cover the appe maker with a lid and cook the appe for 2-3 minutes over medium heat.
Using a spoon, flip the appe and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown.
Remove the appe from the molds and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Serve hot.
