For Shredded Chicken:
In a pot, water and bring it to a boil.
Add the chicken breast to the boiling water and let it cook for 15-20 minutes.
Remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool for a few minutes.
Use a fork or your hands to shred the chicken into small pieces.
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell goes away.
Add chopped tomatoes, chopped carrot, and chopped celery. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are soft.
Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add the soaked dal and shredded chicken. Mix well.
Add water and close the pressure cooker. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the dal is cooked and soft.
Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and mix the soup well.
Serve hot with a garnish of fresh coriander leaves.
