Paneer Stuffed Sabudana Appe
Paneer Stuffed Sabudana Appe is a healthy and delicious snack that is perfect for Navratri fasting. These little balls are made with blended sabudana (tapioca pearls), paneer (skimmed milk paneer), and a blend of aromatic spices. This recipe is gluten-free and vegetarian, making it suitable for many dietary preferences. It's an excellent source of protein and calcium, thanks to the paneer. Ingredients
Skimmed Milk Curd
0.5 cup (100g)
Skimmed milk paneer (Homemade)
0.5 cup, crumbled (100g)
Fresh Coriander Leaves (chopped)
2 tbsp (10g)
Cumin Powder
1 tsp (2g)
Rock salt (sendha namak)
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Red chilli Powder
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Grated Ginger
1.5 tsp (4.5g)
Chopped Green Chilli
2 tsp (4g)
Dried Mango Powder (Amchur)
0.5 tsp (1.5g)
Ghee
1 tsp (5g)
Sabudana (Raw)
0.5 small cup (50g)
Instructions
Preparation
Rinse the sabudana in a colander and soak it in water overnight or for at least 5-6 hours.
Drain the water from the sabudana and blend it in a food processor until it forms a smooth paste.
Cooking Steps
In a mixing bowl, add the sabudana paste, low fat curd, rock salt, green chili, dry mango powder, chopped coriander leaves and grated ginger. Mix everything well.
In another mixing bowl add crumbled paneer, grated ginger, cumin powder and rock salt. Mix well.
Make a ball and flatten paneer stuffing on your palm. keep aside.
Heat the appe pan, grease pan with oil/ghee in each cavity, add little batter first, place paneer stuffing in centre and cover with some more batter.
Cover and cook on medium-low heat until they turn golden brown from all sides.
Repeat the same process with the remaining mixture.
Serve hot.
NOTE- You can also opt bolied shakarkandi, potaoes, raw banana for stuffing.
