Instructions
Preparation
Split yellow moong dal (lentils), washed and soaked in water for 30 minutes
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add finely chopped tomatoes, chopped spinach leaves and green chili. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they soften and turn mushy.
Add soaked moong dal, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles over medium heat.
Let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
