Instructions
Preparation
-Wash and soak Oats groats and split yellow moong dal (lentils) separately in water for 30 minutes
Note: You can opt for oat groats or diamond cuts oats or steel cut oats or rolled oats.
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add finely chopped tomatoes and green chili. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they soften and turn mushy.
Add chopped carrots, green peas, soaked moong dal, and oats. Mix well.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add 3 cups of water and stir.
Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles over medium heat.
Let the pressure release naturally before opening the lid.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
