Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse the lentils and rice together under running water.
In a pressure cooker, combine the rinsed lentils, rice, water, and salt. Pressure cook for about 3-4 whistles or until the lentils and rice are well cooked.
In a separate pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida. Let the seeds splutter.
Add grated ginger and green chilies. Saute for a minute.
Pour this ghee tadka over the cooked khichdi and mix well.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot.
