Dry roast the makhana in a pan for 3-4 minutes until crisp. Let it cool.

Blend the roasted makhana into a fine powder. keep some roasted makhana powder for garnishing.

Add the skimmed milk and dates to the blender.

Blend until smooth and creamy.

Add ice cubes if desired and blend again briefly.
