Instructions
Preparation
Wash the kale thoroughly under running water to remove dirt or debris.
Dry the kale completely using a salad spinner or by patting it dry with a clean kitchen towel. Moisture will prevent the kale from becoming crispy.
Tear the kale into bite-sized pieces, removing the thick stems.
Cooking Steps
Place the kale pieces in a large mixing bowl.
Drizzle the olive oil over the kale and massage the oil into the leaves for 1-2 minutes to coat evenly.
Sprinkle salt and any other seasonings ( paprika) over the kale. Toss well to ensure an even coating.
Preheat the air fryer to 150°C (300°F) for 2 minutes.
Spread the kale in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even crisping. You may need to cook in batches.
Air fry at 150°C (300°F) for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Keep an eye on the kale to prevent burning, as it cooks quickly.
Remove the kale chips once they are crispy and slightly browned at the edges.
Let them cool for 1-2 minutes (they will crisp up further as they cool) and serve immediately.
