Instructions
Preparation
Drain the soaked kala chana and rinse them under running water.
In a pressure cooker, add kala chana and 4 cups of water. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until the chana is cooked.
Cooking Steps
In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes, green chili, ginger paste, garlic paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook until the tomatoes turn mushy.
Add the cooked kala chana along with the water it was cooked in. Mix well.
Bring the soup to a boil and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes over low heat.
Adjust salt and spices as per taste.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
