Lentil whole, yellowish
0.25 cup (50g)
Plain Water
4 medium cup (1000g)
Turmeric powder
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Common salt
0.5 tsp (2.5g)
Instructions
Cooking Steps
Rinse the split yellow lentils (moong dal) in water until the water runs clear.
In a pressure cooker or a pot, add the washed lentils and water. Add turmeric powder and salt, and mix well.
If using a pressure cooker, cook for 3-4 whistles. If using a pot, cook on medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until the lentils are soft and mushy.
Using an immersion blender or a whisk, blend the lentils until smooth. Add more water if necessary to reach the desired consistency.
Serve hot.
