Chana Dal
1 small cup (200g)
Onion Finely Chopped
1 medium onion (80g)
CHILLIES, green
1 tsp (5g)
Ginger, fresh
1 tsp (5g)
Asafoetida
1 gms (1g)
Cumin seeds
1 tsp (3g)
Common salt

Baking Soda

Instructions
Cooking Steps
Drain the soaked chana dal and grind it into a coarse paste using a mixer grinder. Add a little water if required.
Transfer the chana dal paste to a bowl and add chopped onions, green chili, grated ginger, asafoetida, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.
Add baking soda to the batter and mix well.
Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium heat and add a few drops of oil. Take a small portion of the batter and flatten it into a tikki (patty) shape using your hands. Place it on the tawa.
Cook the tikki on both sides until it turns golden brown and crispy.
Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Remove the tikki from the tawa and place them on a plate.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
