Chilli Uttapam

Ingredients
Split Urad Dal (Raw)
0.5 small cup (50g)
Chopped Green Chilli
1 tbsp (8g)
Chopped Tomato
0.25 cup (50g)
Common salt
0.25 tsp (1.25g)
Rice, raw, milled
100 gms (100g)
Olive Oil
1 tsp (5g)

Preparation
Soak rice and urad dal separately in water for 4-5 hours.
Drain the water and grind the rice and urad dal separately to a fine paste. Mix them together in a bowl and add water as needed to get a smooth, pourable batter. Add salt and mix well. Let the batter ferment for 8-10 hours or overnight.
Cooking Steps
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Grease it with a little oil or cooking spray.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin uttapam. Sprinkle some chopped green chili, onion, and tomato over the uttapam.
Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges of the uttapam. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown.
Flip the uttapam and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes until cooked through.
Repeat with the remaining batter and toppings.
Serve hot.
