Ginger Paste

Instructions
Preparation
-Wash and cut chicken into small pieces.
Cooking Steps
Wash the toor dal and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell goes away.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes until they soften and turn mushy.
Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.
Add the chicken pieces and mix well, ensuring the chicken is coated in the masala.
Add soaked toor dal and mix well.
Add enough water to cover the chicken and dal mixture. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the chicken is cooked through and the dal is soft.
Let the pressure release naturally.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
