Instructions
Cooking Steps
Heat oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they turn translucent.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell goes away.
Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well.
Add soaked and drained black dal and 2 cups of water. Mix well.
Close the pressure cooker with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes until the dal is cooked and soft.
Once the pressure cooker has cooled down, open the lid and add low-fat yogurt. Mix well.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
