Making weight loss fun and enjoyable during wedding functions

To reach your desired weight for a wedding you need to know a few important things. Drastic measures might prove effective within the short term, but the shorter the ‘short-cut’, the longer the penalty. Fat burners, extreme dieting, and other ‘shortcuts’ might show you the way to lose weight fast, but end up compromising your body and mind in many other ways.


It is always advisable to invest in developing your health in a sustained manner that serves you in the long run. But, when wedding season is just around the corner, you can start by keeping some relevant thoughts in mind.


  • Here are five points that could be followed to balance out the wedding fun while also keeping an eye out for your health: Do not starve or follow fad diets. Eat nutritious food at regular intervals.


  • Don’t count calories. Start eating your meal with protein and vegetables first till you’re about 70% full, then go for lighter carbs (choose lachha parantha over naan) Encourage healthy habits.


  • Avoid binge eating. Don’t eat anything simply because it’s available. Ask yourself- am I really hungry? Follow a calorie deficit.


  • Hydrate yourself, Drink water, and Consume plenty of liquids.


  • Keep active, and move around the venue.


Remember, Indian weddings are supposed to be a fun occasion. Don’t feel guilty about it. But at the same time, fun should not be at the cost of your health.
